Welcome to Initiative for Gender Equality and Development in Africa
For the past few decades, most African countries including Ghana, have adopted democracy as a means of improving the lives of their people. Unfortunately, gender inequality is preventing most of these countries to realise the benefit associated with having a democracy.
Initiative for Gender Equality and Development (IGED-Africa) is addressing this inequality by promoting human rights as well as creating the opportunity to empower women and the youth so that they can participate in the development of their countries.

Vision
An empowered continent, where women’s rights and economic empowerment are a reality; youth development a priority and human rights enjoyed by all for the sustainable development of the continent.

Mission
To promote and strengthen the voice, capacity and participation of women and young people in the realisation of their rights and development through research, training and advocacy at the community, national, regional and international levels.
